Christine M. Verbitsky is a member of the Suffolk County Family Court 18b Assigned Counsel Program, a program which accepts only experienced and highly skilled family court attorneys to represent individuals in Child Custody and Support matters and Orders of Protection.

Christine received her Juris Doctor from Touro Law Center where she graduated sixth in her class with the Summa Cum Laude distinction and served as Issue Editor of the Touro Law Review. Her article, “The Occupy Wall Street Movement and the Constitution: Protestors Preoccupied with the First Amendment”, was published in the Touro Law Review. Christine was the recipient of multiple academic scholarships, the Public Interest Fellowship, the David Berg Public Interest Fellowship, CALI Awards for Academic Excellence in Legal Process, Property, Criminal Procedure and Secured Transactions and the Dean’s List for five semesters.

Christine joined the divorce law firm of Robert E. Hornberger, Esq., P.C. in 2014. Her caring nature and ability to develop a personal, one-on-one relationships with her clients led her to excel in the matrimonial field. Prior to joining the firm, Christine obtained experience in the areas of estate planning and landlord tenant law.

A lifetime Long Island resident, Christine received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Criminal Justice and Political Science from the University at Albany. During the course of her undergraduate studies, Christine became skilled in understanding an individual’s reactions to day-to-day and stressful life events which assists her to better understand and guide her clients through their divorce issues.
